Party music ideas: "Late at night after my daughter is asleep and my husband is relaxing, I surf iTunes for new music," says Riva. "I love the new CD called Grammy Nominees 2008. It's a mix of all the best current hits," she notes.

"Eighties music is great for keeping the energy up at parties," she says, adding, "Great background music for non-dancing parties is anything from Café del Mar's CD collection."

As a general rule for keeping the music right for any event, Riva emphasizes the importance of playing at least some music that everyone will enjoy. "Balance is key for selecting good music," she says." For every two songs you like choose one song that fits all ages."
