Top Adult Halloween Party Costumes

When it comes to dressing up for Halloween parties, most grown-ups choose to look spooky: four of the top 10 costumes are for downright creepy characters.

Pirates and traditional characters are also big, and some women clearly enjoy taking on a more risqué persona for the evening.

Here, according to a survey by the National Retail Foundation and consumer marketing firm BIGresearch, are the costumes most often chosen by adults for Halloween parties in 2006.
