Meet the Winner of our 2nd Valentine's Day Contest:
"Share Your Most Romantic Story"
Welcome to the results of our second Valentine's Day contest!
What an amazing variety of romantic and poignant stories! Thank you so much to everyone who sent in a story. Some were funny; some were moving. Almost all of them were truly wonderful.
- We read stories of young love—and of happy marriages that have lasted for decades despite overwhelming odds.
- There were recollections of love at first sight, and moving examples of thoughtfulness and devotion in the face of health crises.
- Clever marriage proposals were also a big theme. We got lots of entries from women whose husbands' proposals were surprisingly imaginative--and from guys who had created elaborate proposal plans.
- There also were lots of stories about day-to-day expressions of love—e.g., one woman's recollection of commuting home from work on a cold snowy winter night to find that her husband had gotten to the railroad station and cleaned the snow off her car. Under the windshield wiper was a little note that said, "I love you."
The stories really were amazing! Now meet our winner and read her entry—followed by the wonderful romantic stories shared by the five runners-up.

Phoenix, Arizona"Ever since we started dating, on the first of every month, my husband waits and finds the 'right time' to hug me tight, give me a great kiss, and say, "Welcome to February, a brand new month I get to be in love with you."
He surprises me with the when-and-where sometimes—for example, once he waited until it was close to midnight on April 1st as his April Fool's joke. But it's always on the first day of each month.
On New Year's Eve, he says that it's a brand new year that he gets to be in love with me; the same goes for my birthday.
We've been together over 22 years and he's never missed a month."
About Jeanne:
Jeanne and her husband, Steve, live with their 17-year-old daughter, Veronica, three dogs, and two cats. Both Jeanne and Steve work in the marketing department of IBM.
"After Veronica, was born, Steve was a stay-at-home Dad for six years," Jeanne says proudly. "He really is wonderful.
"Veronica says she plans to marry a man just like her father. I keep telling her, 'He didn't start out that way, honey. I had to train him,'" says Jeanne, laughing.
"Well-trained" or just a born romantic, Steve clearly adores his wife.
